Georgia Open Records Act Notice

Records of the Echols County Schools are subject to the Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A § 50-18-70 et seq. 

All written requests for public records made pursuant to the Official Code of Georgia Annotated Title 50, Article 4, Chapter 18 must be sent to the Open Records Officer, Dr. Vince Hamm, at Echols County Board of Education, 216 Hwy 129 North, Statenville, GA 31648 or to vince.hamm@echols.k12.ga.us

Intent to Opt Out of Homestead Exemption

The Echols County Board of Education intends to opt out of the statewide adjusted base year ad valorem homestead exemption for the Echols County School system. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this matter to be held at the Echols County Board of Education on Friday, January 10th, 2025, at 8:00 AM. Times and places of additional public hearings on this matter are at the Echols County Board of Education on Friday January 17th , 2025, at 8:00 AM, and at the Echols County Board of Education on Tuesday February 11th, 2025, at 6:00 PM .
